Salsa & Soul is a family owned business on a mission to feed low-income and at-risk individuals and families living in economically disadvantaged communities. We strive to keep our clients connected to their cultures through the culinary delights we provide, while maintaining our focus on providing top quality, fresh cooked and nutritionally balanced meals. Our goal is to positively impact the community not just through our meals, but also through the many individuals that we employ. Established in 2017, we remain committed to making a difference as we serve communities throughout the Tri-state area.
Our Story
Each year over 100,000 New Yorker's experience hunger and homelessness. Many of these are children. Unfortunately, most of these children receive only one meal a day at a school, a day care facility or an after school program.
Scores of children are growing up eating “fast food” as their primary meals. Not long ago, “fast food” was considered a once in awhile treat.
Today it has become daily fare for an increasing number of children. Studies have proven that a diet heavy in “fast food” contributes to childhood diabetes and obesity while also being a detriment to a child’s behavior and ability to learn.
